90% Track + 10% Street = 100% Fun

I did my first track day on October 16th, 2004. It was the most fun I’d ever legally had (with my clothes on). I did a few more track days, one with my Ducati Monster 900, and a couple with my Buell Ulysses. I quickly determined that if I planned on getting serious about track riding, I’d need a track bike. Only problem is, track days aren’t cheap. Neither is travel. Nor are the tires you burn up on the track. And there is always the possibility of a crash.

Not wanting to destroy my street bike, in 2007, I purchased the GSX-R600 to use as my track bike. I also kept it street legal, so I can put the mirrors on and hook the lights back up and ride on the road.

If you enjoy high performance riding, for goodness sake, don’t do it on the street. Take it to the track!
